Ken Carlter

Ken Carlter is a talented Tahitian singer-songwriter and music producer who has been passionate about music since his childhood. Originally from Tahiti, he began his musical journey at the age of 16 by forming a group called "Metyss Tahiti" with his high school friends. After the group disbanded, Ken pursued a solo career, starting in 2010. He gained significant recognition for creating a unique genre known as "Tahitian Pop," which blends international pop with Polynesian instruments and the Tahitian language. His music often features the ukulele, an instrument he loves for its softer sound compared to the Tahitian ukulele. Ken's career took off after meeting producer Nicolas Neidhardt, and he later worked with Bertrand Louis, leading to a contract with Sony France. He participated in Eurovision France 2021 with the song "Maeva," and his music continues to celebrate Polynesian culture and themes of love and island life.

Ken's creative process involves drawing inspiration from his Polynesian upbringing and personal experiences. He composes melodies on his ukulele and develops them using music software before recording in professional studios. His recent releases include songs like "Vahine," "Ia Ora Na," and "Maeva," showcasing his ability to blend traditional and modern elements. Ken's music has resonated both locally and internationally, making him a prominent figure in promoting Polynesian culture through music.
