Scream

**Scream** is a legendary hardcore punk band that emerged from the Washington, D.C., scene in the early 1980s. Formed by brothers Franz Stahl (guitar) and Pete Stahl (vocals), along with bassist Skeeter Thompson and drummer Kent Stax, they became known for their high-energy sound and DIY ethos, sharing stages with fellow D.C. icons like Minor Threat and Bad Brains. Their early albums, *Still Screaming* (1983) and *This Side Up* (1985), cemented their status as pioneers of crossover thrash, blending punk aggression with hints of metal. Fun fact: A young Dave Grohl drummed for Scream in the late ’80s before joining Nirvana!

After disbanding in 1990, Scream reunited in the 2000s, reviving their raw, riff-driven sound for new generations. Recent releases like *DC Special* (2013) and *Complete Control Sessions* (2016) capture their unrelenting live energy, while remastered classics like *Fumble* showcase their enduring influence on punk and alternative rock. Still touring and recording, Scream remains a fiery bridge between hardcore’s roots and its modern evolution.
