Ruo Huang is an imaginative and influential Chinese-born American composer known for his distinctive blend of Chinese and Western musical traditions and his ability to transcend cultural and musical boundaries. Born on December 18, 1976, in Hainan Province, China, Huang was immersed in the world of music from an early age, being the son of a composer. Trained at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he continued his musical education in the United States, where he attended the Juilliard School, culminating in his winning the prestigious Henry Mancini Award at the age of 28.
