Elliott Skinner

Elliott Skinner is a Texas-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter known for his soulful blend of folk, rock, soul, and blues. He first gained wider recognition as a member of the vocal trio Thirdstory, which formed in New York City in 2014 and released an acclaimed EP, *Searching*, in 2016. After the group's amicable split in 2019, Skinner has been developing his solo career, crafting introspective and emotive music that highlights his warm, expressive vocals and multi-instrumentalist talents. His recent works, including albums like *Farewell to Ghosts* and singles like "Rose Water" and "When Will We Know," showcase his ability to weave textured harmonies and soulful storytelling, reflecting the roots and richness of Black musical culture.

Growing up in Dallas, Skinner was immersed in music from a young age, singing in church choirs and mastering instruments such as guitar and bass. He attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and won the YoungArts Award in Voice in 2012. His early career highlights include performing alongside artists like Keith Urban and opening for acts such as Sarah Jaffe and Kamasi Washington. Always evolving, Elliott Skinner continues to push the boundaries of his sound, blending improvisation and heartfelt lyricism to engage listeners in deeply personal and soulful musical journeys.
