Pathogen is a death metal band from the Philippines, formed in 2001 in San Pablo, Calabarzon. Known for their old-school death metal style, they take influence from 80s and 90s death metal legends like Morbid Angel and Obituary, focusing on catchy riffs and powerful blast sections that keep the energy high and engaging. Over the years, Pathogen has released several demos, split releases, and full-length albums, carving out a respected spot in the Southeast Asian metal scene and gaining international recognition for their intense, straightforward rotting death metal sound. The band’s lineup has evolved, but original members including Erwin (Javier) remain active, continuing to drive their signature brutal and hypnotic style.
