Henry Wong Doe is a New Zealand-born pianist who’s made a name for himself as both a dazzling concert artist and a passionate advocate for contemporary and New Zealand music. Born in Auckland, he trained first with Susan Smith-Gaddis and Bryan Sayer at the University of Auckland before crossing the globe to earn his Master’s degree at Indiana University Bloomington and his Doctorate at The Juilliard School, studying with esteemed mentors like Joseph Kalichstein. Henry has performed internationally with major orchestras, including the Auckland Philharmonia, Pittsburgh Symphony, and at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, where he’s premiered both interactive electronic works and chamber pieces. As an educator, he’s now Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Chair at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
