(Hed) P.E.

(Hed) P.E., short for (Hed) Planet Earth and stylized as (həd) p.e., is an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1994 by vocalist Jared Gomes, also known as M.C.U.D. (MC Underdog). The band is well-known for their fusion of styles, which mix punk rock, hip-hop, heavy metal, reggae, and funk. They are often associated with the nu metal movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s, although their sound has evolved significantly since their inception, drawing on a wide variety of influences.

Their work is characterized by its energetic performances and politically-conscious lyrics, which tackle themes of societal issues, love, and introspection. Throughout their career, (Hed) P.E. has released several albums and undergone numerous changes in lineup, with frontman Jared Gomes being the consistent figure through these transitions. The band's recent releases, such as "Class of 2020," "Sandmine," and "Califas Worldwide," continue to showcase their commitment to blending genres and addressing current events, while tracks like "I Wanna Be Sedated" from their "70's Hits From The Pit" project demonstrate their ability to creatively rework classic hits. With their dedication to challenging musical norms and a voracious appetite for blending disparate genres, (Hed) P.E. maintains a loyal fan base and a distinctive presence in the alternative metal scene.
