Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra

The Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1991, initially as the City Orchestra of Málaga, and has since become a significant cultural institution in the city. The orchestra is known for its diverse repertoire, which includes major works from the international classical music canon, as well as new and challenging pieces. Over the years, it has been led by several principal conductors, including Octav Calleya, Odón Alonso, Alexander Rahbari, Aldo Ceccato, Edmon Colomer, and Manuel Hernández Silva. The orchestra has collaborated with renowned soloists and conductors, such as Jesus Lopez Cobos and Montserrat Caballé.

In recent years, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra has been involved in recording projects, including the works of Orlando Jacinto García, Manuel Manrique de Lara, and Arturo Dúo Vital. These recordings reflect the orchestra's commitment to promoting a wide range of musical styles and supporting new and emerging composers. Currently, the orchestra is under the artistic direction of José María Moreno.
