**Allen Ravenstine** is a pioneering electronic musician and synthesizer innovator best known as a founding member of the experimental rock band Pere Ubu. Active since the mid-1970s, Ravenstine’s eerie, textural synth work became a defining element of Pere Ubu’s avant-garde sound, blending post-punk energy with sci-fi atmospherics. After leaving the band in the late 1980s, he shifted focus to solo explorations, crafting abstract, cinematic soundscapes that feel both nostalgic and futuristic. His recent releases—like *Harbor Lights Ragas* and *Electron Music*—showcase his knack for weaving minimalist electronics into haunting, immersive narratives. When he’s not making music, Ravenstine’s also known for his earlier career as a pilot, proving creativity knows no bounds (or altitudes!).
