Wakefield is an American pop-punk band that originated in Maryland around 2000. The band was formed by Ryan Escolopio, his brother Aaron Escolopio (who previously played with Good Charlotte), and friends J.D. Tennyson, Mike Schoolden, and Mark Martinez. They built their early reputation playing local clubs before signing with Lava Records and later Arista Records. Their debut album, *American Made*, was released in 2003 and featured the single “Say You Will,” which gained notable airplay on MTV2, Fuse, and some Top 40 radio stations. They toured extensively, sharing stages with bands like the All-American Rejects and Reel Big Fish, establishing their presence in the pop-punk scene of the early 2000s.
Known for blending energetic punk vibes with catchy melodies, Wakefield earned a dedicated following through their upbeat songs and relentless touring. Their commitment to music shows through their solid setlists and memorable live performances. Though their greatest commercial success came from *American Made*, they also released other projects including the 2005 album *Which Side Are You On?* and continued putting out singles such as "C’mon Baby" and "Martha & Snoop (NYE)" in more recent years.
