The Fray is an American rock band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2002 by schoolmates Isaac Slade and Joe King. The lineup was completed with the addition of Dave Welsh on guitar and Ben Wysocki on drums. The band captured audiences with their introspective lyrics and a blend of piano-driven pop and rock music. They skyrocketed to fame with their 2005 debut album, "How to Save a Life," featuring the hit title track and "Over My Head (Cable Car)," which became chart-topping sensations. Their emotive, melodic approach resonated deeply with listeners, tugging at heartstrings with themes of love, loss, and redemption.
Continuing to build on their initial success, The Fray released their self-titled second album in 2009, which further solidified their standing in the music world with songs like "You Found Me" and "Never Say Never." Their subsequent albums, "Scars & Stories" (2012), "Helios" (2014), and a selection of EPs and live recordings, including "Live From Soho" and the Spotify Exclusive "Live EP," showcased the band's evolution and commitment to their craft. Despite a slight departure from their original sound in pursuit of diverse musical directions, The Fray has maintained a devoted fan base and continues to contribute soul-stirring music to the rock scene, as evidenced by more recent releases like "Changing Tides" and "Singing Low."
