Shadow Project

Shadow Project was an enigmatic and influential gothic rock band that emerged from the dark waters of the underground music scene in the early 1990s. Formed by singer Rozz Williams, famed for his work with the pioneering deathrock band Christian Death, and guitarist Eva O, who was also recognized for her involvement with the genre through the band Super Heroines, Shadow Project struck a compelling balance between gothic rock's introspective melancholy and the raw energy of punk. The band's lineup frequently fluctuated, including contributions from bassists Jill Emery and Thomas Morgan, and drummer Paris.

Shadow Project's discography reflects the band's complex aesthetics and emotional depth. Their music often delved into the realms of occult and personal demons, reflecting the tumultuous lives and introspective nature of its members. With releases such as "Forever Came Today (Remix)," "The Complete Collection," which serves as an anthology of the band's influential work, and the recently remastered "The Original Tapes 1988 (2023 Remastered)," a purist's glimpse into their early sound, the band remains a cornerstone of the goth and deathrock scenes. Even after their disbandment, Shadow Project's legacy endures, echoed in the darkened halls of goth clubs and in the work of subsequent artists who draw inspiration from their somber and defiant melodies.
