Hundred Waters is an eclectic group that transcends the boundaries of genre with a blend of electronic, folk, and art-pop elements. Based out of Gainesville, Florida, the band was formed in 2011 by singer-songwriter Nicole Miglis, producer Trayer Tryon, and drummer Zach Tetreault. The band's sound is characterized by intimate vocals, complex arrangements, and organic soundscapes, creating a sonic experience that is both introspective and expressive.
Hundred Waters gained recognition with their self-titled debut album in 2012, which was re-released when they signed to Skrillex's label OWSLA, making them an odd yet fitting addition to a mostly EDM roster. This signing illustrated the band's cross-genre appeal and ability to resonate with diverse audiences. Their follow-up albums, "The Moon Rang Like a Bell" in 2014 and "Communicating" in 2017, saw them refining their approach and delving deeper into the emotional and sonic layers of their music. With tracks like "Cavity" and "Show Me Love," which was later remixed by Skrillex, featuring Chance The Rapper, Moses Sumney, and Robin Hannibal, Hundred Waters continued to garner critical acclaim for their innovative and ethereal soundscapes, often coupled with poignant lyrical themes of human connection and communication.
