Manuel Pasquinelli

Manuel Pasquinelli is a Swiss drummer and composer, best known for his work with the post-rock minimalist band Sonar and as the founder of the AKKU Quintet. He founded AKKU Quintet in 2010, and the group has become a prominent force in Swiss adventurous jazz, blending elements of minimalist and atmospheric music. Pasquinelli's compositions often feature complex rhythms and textures, drawing comparisons to other Swiss minimalist groups like Nik Bärtsch's Ronin. AKKU Quintet's music is characterized by its use of tight rhythmic grids and asymmetrical structures, creating a unique blend of stasis and motion.
