Crack Cloud

Crack Cloud is a collective of musicians and artists, often described as a multimedia collective, based in Vancouver, Canada. Since their emergence in the indie music scene, the group has garnered attention for their unique blend of post-punk, art punk, and experimental rock, informed by a DIY aesthetic and a collective approach to creativity. Integral to their identity is the way they incorporate visual art, performance, and video into their work, creating an immersive experience that extends beyond the music itself.

The collective's ethos is rooted in harm reduction and community healing, with many of its members having personal experiences related to addiction and mental health struggles. This is reflected in their thematic content and the empathetic, community-oriented mindset they bring to their projects. Crack Cloud released their self-titled EP in 2018, which introduced their eclectic sound and set the stage for their subsequent works. They followed this up with the release of their debut album "Pain Olympics" in 2020, which includes a fusion of compelling rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics. The highly praised album was accompanied by visually striking videos enhancing the storytelling in songs such as "Ouster Stew" and "The Next Fix." With releases like "Tough Baby" and "Costly Engineered Illusion," Crack Cloud continues to push the boundaries of genre, while maintaining a strong social and political commentary within their evolving discography.
