Purba Dam

Purba Dam was a renowned Rabindra Sangeet exponent from Kolkata, India. She was one of the leading performers of Tagore's songs from the late 1970s through the 1980s. Dam was a favorite student of Rabindra Sangeet doyen Suchitra Mitra and carved out her own distinctive style of rendition. Some of her unforgettable performances include songs like "Madhur Tomar Shesh Je Na Pai" and "Aar Nai Re Bela". Dam passed away on September 19, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of Tagore music.
