Bernhard Sieberer

**Bernhard Sieberer** is an Austrian choirmaster and conductor born on January 12, 1963, in St. Johann in Tirol. He studied conducting with Edgar Seipenbusch at the Innsbruck Conservatory and participated in master classes with renowned conductors including Sergiu Celibidache in Mainz, Gustav Kuhn in Milan, and Michael Gielen at the Mozarteum Salzburg. Making his conducting debut in 1990 with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Sieberer has since worked extensively with international choirs and orchestras, performing at prestigious venues like the Salzburg Festival, Steirischer Herbst, and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music.

Throughout his career, Sieberer has maintained leadership roles with several ensembles, serving as choirmaster of the Collegium Vocale Innsbruck (1990–2008, 2011–present) and the vocal ensemble Vocapella Innsbruck (since 1991). He's known for his broad repertoire spanning from Renaissance choral works through contemporary music, with a particular focus on orchestral choral pieces by composers like Monteverdi and Schütz. An ongoing collaboration with the Slovakian chamber orchestra Capella Istropolitana has produced a series of recordings exploring classical works by Mozart, Beethoven, and other composers through innovative reinterpretation and analysis.
