Thee Commons

Thee Commons, also known as Tropa Magica since late 2018, is an East Los Angeles-based band that fuses a potent mix of musical influences to create a unique and infectious sound. Known for their psychedelic cumbia-punk rhythms and lively performances, they blend elements of cumbia, punk, psychedelia, and rock n' roll, creating a progressive sound that embodies the vibrant, eclectic culture of their hometown. The group was formed by brothers David and Rene Pacheco in 2012 and quickly began to build a reputation for their energetic live shows and innovative soundscapes.

Their critically acclaimed album "Paleta Sonora," released in 2016, showcased their ability to transcend genre boundaries and secured their place in the local music scene of Los Angeles. Other notable releases by Thee Commons include "Carcacha" and "Loteria Tribal," both of which further explore their trademark psychedelic cumbia rhythms twined with garage rock. "Thee Commons on Audiotree Live," a session that captures their invigorating live performance, along with their "Jam In The Van" live session, highlight their raw energy and ability to engage audiences through their dynamic sound. The band's "Collecion De Oro" serves as a testament to their unique fusion of sound and cultural diversity, encapsulating the essence of their musical journey. As they transitioned into Tropa Magica, Thee Commons left behind a legacy of innovation within the Los Angeles music community and an expanding fan base craving their eclectic sonic blend.
