**Dieb13** (born Dieter Kovačič) is an Austrian experimental turntablist and sound artist who’s been slicing, dicing, and reimagining vinyl records since the 1990s. Based in Vienna’s vibrant avant-garde scene, he’s known for transforming turntables into unpredictable instruments, crafting abstract collages of noise, glitch, and musique concrète. His work leans into improvisation and collaboration, often teaming up with fellow experimentalists like Mats Gustafsson, Martin Brandlmayr, and various members of the Mego label crew (home to his 2020 release *Scuba*).
With a reputation for pushing boundaries, Dieb13’s recent projects—including the cheekily titled *(Fake) The Facts*—continue his love affair with deconstructed soundscapes, where flickers of melody collide with chaotic textures. Whether performing solo or in collaborative chaos, he remains a staple of underground festivals and art spaces worldwide, keeping turntablism thrillingly weird.
