Ophelia Gordon

Ophelia Gordon is a British pianist making waves with her dynamic performances and genre-blurring approach to music. Born into a musical family—her mother a pianist and saxophonist, and several generations of pianists before her—Ophelia grew up surrounded by both jazz and classical sounds. She first explored her musical identity at the BRIT School, known for producing pop icons, but carved her own path by becoming the first BRIT alum to release a commercial classical album. Her debut, *Kapustin: Between the Lines*, marks her as the first female British pianist to record a full album of Nikolai Kapustin’s jazz-classical fusion works, a project that reflects her own background and passion for breaking down musical boundaries.

Ophelia’s journey hasn’t been without challenges—she’s spoken openly about navigating anorexia and divorce, experiences that have deeply shaped her relationship with music. She’s won awards in international competitions, taught at leading schools, and performed as a collaborative pianist, including a residency at the Manhattan School of Music. With a warm, expressive style and a commitment to authenticity, Ophelia is known for her vibrant interpretations of Kapustin’s music, as well as her efforts to make classical concerts more engaging and accessible. When she’s not performing or teaching, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her cats and husband.
