Al Ayre Español is a vibrant Spanish early music ensemble that’s been breathing fresh life into Baroque masterpieces since 1988. Founded by harpsichordist and conductor Eduardo López Banzo, the group takes its name from the "ayre español" concept—a rhythmic, dance-like style rooted in Spain’s musical heritage. They’ve become champions of both homegrown composers (like José de Nebra, whose sacred cantatas they’ve recorded) and international Baroque giants, serving up fiery interpretations of Handel’s operas and orchestral works alongside rediscovered Spanish treasures.

Known for their crisp, dynamic performances on period instruments, they’ve built a killer discography that jumps from Handel’s dramatic *Amadigi* to the playful charm of Literes’ *Acis y Galatea*.
