Ralitza Patcheva is a celebrated Bulgarian-American pianist known for her elegant technique and bold, innovative interpretations across a wide spectrum of repertoire. She has won prizes at prestigious competitions such as the 51st International Busoni Competition in Italy, the Washington International Piano Competition, and the National Symphony Orchestra Young Soloists competition. Ralitza has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra, Jena Philharmonic in Germany, and Haydn Orchestra in Italy, and she has given recitals at renowned venues like the Kennedy Center, Phillips Collection, and St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall.
Holding advanced degrees from the University of Maryland, the Peabody Conservatory, and the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Patcheva is deeply committed to both performance and education. She is currently associate chair of Chamber Music and on the piano faculty at Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., and also teaches at Catholic University of America. Beyond her solo career, she co-directs the Brown Bag Music Series, a free monthly concert series in D.C., and has collaborated with composer-pianist Sam Post on projects reinventing Bach’s music, such as “The Well-‘Tampered’ Clavier”.
