Giorgi Gigashvili

Giorgi Gigashvili is a talented pianist born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2000. Initially, he didn't plan to pursue a career as a pianist, but his passion for music led him to study at the Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children and the Tbilisi State Conservatory under Revaz Tavadze. Giorgi's career took a significant turn in 2019 when he won the First Prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition, with Martha Argerich as the jury chair. He continued to excel, winning prizes at the Busoni Competition and the KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen. In 2023, he secured the Second Prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, along with several special prizes. Giorgi released his debut album, "Meeting my Shadow," in April 2023, featuring works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Scriabin, and Messiaen.

Giorgi Gigashvili is also known for his versatility, combining classical piano with electronic and experimental music. He is part of the electronic band Tsuneba and has been supported by notable foundations like the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation and the Géza Anda-Foundation. Currently, he studies with Kirill Gerstein at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. Giorgi's upcoming performances include collaborations with several prominent orchestras and recitals at esteemed venues like the Elbphilharmonie and Wigmore Hall. His unique blend of classical and modern music has made him a rising star in the music world.
