Joseph R. Olefirowicz is a dynamic conductor and organist born in 1972 in Methuen, Massachusetts. After earning his degree in conducting for musical theatre and opera from Ithaca College, he embarked on a vibrant career in Europe, initially as an orchestra member on the European tour of Bernstein’s *On the Town*. He made his conducting debut in 1995 at New York’s Oswego Opera Theatre and soon became principal conductor of major commercial musical theaters in Germany, leading productions such as *Starlight Express*, *Miss Saigon*, and Disney’s *Hunchback of Notre Dame* world premiere. Known for his energetic and charismatic style—he even earned the nickname “the dancing conductor” through a viral YouTube video—Olefirowicz has worked extensively in opera and concert settings, including acclaimed performances with the Bavarian Radio Choir and the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Beyond music, he pursued a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology during the pandemic and serves as Artistic Director of the award-winning First Music Concert Series as well as Kirchenmusikdirektor at The First Church of Nashua.
