Lei Meng

Lei Meng is a talented Chinese pianist born in 1991 in Harbin, China. She began her musical education at the China Conservatory in Beijing before furthering her studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg under Prof. Klaus Kaufmann and at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris with Prof. Michel Béroff. Lei has won several prestigious international competitions, such as the Bang & Olufsen PianoRAMA Competition in Denmark and the Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition in Portugal. She performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, the USA, China, and Brazil, and has released several recordings, including works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Schumann on the Coviello Classics label.

In addition to her performing career, Lei Meng is a dedicated educator, appointed as a professor of piano and piano didactics at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the winter semester of 2024/25. She has been teaching masterclasses and contributing to the university’s International Summer Academy. Lei’s blend of artistry and pedagogy highlights her as a significant figure in the contemporary classical piano scene.
