Alexander Shelley is a British conductor who has served as the Music Director of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Canada since 2015. He has also held positions as Principal Conductor of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Royal Philharmonic Society. Shelley is known for his adventurous programming and commitment to new music, and has premiered works by composers such as John Adams, Thomas Adès, and Esa-Pekka Salonen.
