Reverend And The Makers

Reverend and The Makers are an English rock band based in Sheffield, formed in the mid-2000s around the magnetic frontman Jon McClure, commonly referred to as "The Reverend." Their music is a vibrant amalgamation of indie rock, alternative dance, and electronically-infused pop, characterized by socially insightful lyrics and an energetic live presence. The band's origins can be traced back to the early networking of McClure with other prominent figures in the Sheffield music scene, including members of the Arctic Monkeys, which helped to increase their early exposure.

Bolstered by their solid fanbase in the UK, Reverend and The Makers made their breakthrough with the release of their debut album "The State of Things" in 2007, which featured the hit single "Heavyweight Champion of the World." Throughout their career, they have navigated through the challenges of an evolving music industry with a steadfast dedication to their craft and a consistent output of new material. In recent years, their work has included albums such as "Death of a King" (2017), noted for its rich, genre-blending soundscapes. The band’s catalog has expanded with eclectic releases like "Heatwave In The Cold North" and thought-provoking singles such as "A Letter To My 21 Year Old Self" and "Problems," which showcase their ability to mesh catchy rhythms with reflective storytelling. ElementRefusing to be constrained by a single genre, Reverend and The Makers continue to experiment and evolve, remaining a relevant and respected mainstay in the British music community.
