Los Teen Tops

Los Teen Tops were one of Mexico’s pioneering rock and roll bands, emerging in the late 1950s. Founded in 1958, the group gained fame by performing Spanish-language covers of American rock hits with their own energetic twist. Their lineup included Enrique Guzmán on vocals, who would later go on to a successful solo career. Los Teen Tops were best known for infusing early rock and roll with a Latin flavor, helping to popularize the genre throughout Latin America.

Some of their biggest hits include “La Plaga” (a Spanish version of “Good Golly Miss Molly”), “Popotitos” (covering “Bony Moronie”), and “Buen Rock Esta Noche” (based on “Good Rockin’ Tonight”). Their youthful energy and clever adaptation of rock hits for a Spanish-speaking audience made them icons of the early rock en español movement. Los Teen Tops played a key role in shaping the sound of Latin American rock during its formative years.
