Bia Villa-Chan

Bia Villa-Chan is a talented multi-instrumentalist and singer from Recife, Brazil. She began her musical journey early, learning to play the bandolim at the age of six with the guidance of her grandfather Heitor Villa-Chan, a co-founder of the Pirilampos de Tejipió block. Bia went on to study classical guitar at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and developed skills on various instruments, including guitar, contrabass, drums, clarinet, sax, and piano. Professionally, she initially balanced music with a career in engineering until deciding to focus exclusively on music in 2017. Her discography includes the EP "Pedacinho de Mim" and the album "GiraSons," both released in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Bia Villa-Chan has collaborated with notable artists such as Alceu Valença and Armandinho Macêdo. She has also performed at significant events, including the Galo da Madrugada, one of the world's largest Carnival blocks, and won several awards, including the 10th Prêmio da Música Pernambucana as Best MPB Singer and the Troféu Gonzagão, a prestigious honor in Northeastern Brazilian music. Her music style encompasses a variety of genres, reflecting her diverse musical background and artistic versatility.
