Parkway Drive is an Australian metalcore band that was formed in Byron Bay, New South Wales, in 2003. The band—comprised of members Winston McCall (vocals), Jeff Ling (guitar), Luke Kilpatrick (guitar), Jia O'Connor (bass), and Ben Gordon (drums)—rose from their local hardcore scene to international acclaim through their blistering riffs, emotive melodies, and intense live performances. They are named after the street where their home at the time, a house where many members of the group would hang out, was on Parkway Drive.
With a discography marked by progression and a relentless touring ethic, Parkway Drive has released several acclaimed albums. "Killing With A Smile" (2005) marked their powerful debut, and with subsequent releases like "Horizons" (2007) and "Deep Blue" (2010), they carved out a reputation for delivering unapologetically heavy music that resonated with fans across the globe. Their relentless evolution continued with "Atlas" (2012) and "Ire" (2015), the latter of which saw them incorporating more diverse musical elements and achieving commercial success. 2018's "Reverence" took an even more ambitious turn, earning the band an ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, cementing their status within the genre's vanguard. "Viva The Underdogs" (2020) showcased the band's live prowess and their connection with an ever-growing international fanbase. Their most recent offering, "Darker Still" (2022), exemplifies their signature blend of metal ferocity and hard-hitting lyricism, as Parkway Drive continues to push the boundaries of the metalcore genre they've helped define.
