The Paddingtons

The Paddingtons were a scrappy, energetic indie rock band hailing from Hull, England. Formed in the early 2000s, they quickly gained notoriety for their raucous live shows and catchy, often politically charged, tunes. Championed by BBC Radio 1 DJs like Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe, the band released several singles and EPs, including "21st Century Boy" and "Panic Attack," before dropping their debut album, *First Comes First*, in 2005. Known for their frenetic energy and frontman Tom Atkin's distinctive vocals, The Paddingtons delivered a raw, punk-infused sound that resonated with fans of bands like The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys.

While *First Comes First* garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, the band's follow-up, *No Mundane Options*, arrived in 2007 to a more muted reception. Despite continuing to tour and release music, including the EP *The Lady Boy Tapes*, The Paddingtons ultimately disbanded. Though their time in the spotlight was relatively short-lived, they left behind a collection of energetic and memorable tracks that capture the spirit of the mid-2000s indie rock scene.
