Acherozu

Acherozu is a black metal band from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China, formed in the summer of 2010. The band initially focused on black metal but later incorporated elements of death metal into their sound. Their music often explores themes from Chinese mythology. The band's lineup includes Xietian Hao on vocals, Zhao Ying on bass, Ye Yang and High Feng on guitars, and Ark on drums. Acherozu is associated with Thanatology Productions and has been active in the underground rock scene since their inception.

Despite their early success, the band experienced a period of inactivity due to lineup changes. However, by the end of 2012, new members joined, and the band reformed with a second-generation lineup. This change led to a more integrated style, blending black metal with old-school death metal elements. The name "Acherozu" combines "Acheron," the ancient Greek mythological river of the underworld, with "Zu," a Chinese term related to funerals, reflecting their thematic focus on mythology and the underworld.
