Axis of Advance was a Canadian black and death metal band from Edmonton, Alberta, formed in 1998. The band originated from the group Sacramentary Abolishment, which changed its name after drummer Paulus Kressman left. The final lineup consisted of Wör (vocals, guitar), Vermin (vocals, bass), and J. Read (drums). Their music was known for being intense and aggressive, often described as "freaked-out, hyper and evil metal." Axis of Advance released several albums, including *Strike* (2001), *The List* (2002), and *Obey* (2004), before disbanding in 2008. After the band dissolved, its members went on to participate in other projects, such as Revenge and Blood Revolt.
Their discography also includes the EP *Purify* (2006), which aligns with the releases you mentioned. The band's style was not for the faint of heart, appealing to fans of extreme metal genres. Despite controversy surrounding alleged Nazi symbolism, the band issued a statement denying any affiliation with white supremacist movements. Axis of Advance's legacy remains within the underground metal scene, with their members continuing to contribute to the genre through other bands.
