Jan Michael Looking Wolf is a renowned Native American flute player, musician, educator, author, and humanitarian. An enrolled member of the Kalapuya tribe of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, he resides in Oregon. His remarkable journey began after overcoming a debilitating stroke in his late twenties, which inspired him to learn and play the Native American flute under the guidance of his uncle, Michael Standing Elk. Looking Wolf's music spans multiple genres, including blues, rock, hip-hop, and new age, and he has released over 25 albums, garnering significant recognition with numerous awards from organizations like the Global Music Awards and the Native American Music Awards. He is also dedicated to teaching and has developed an accredited university course on the Native American flute.
