The Yabuno Ettun Project

The Yabuno Ettun Project is a dynamic jazz duo featuring Japanese pianist Haruka Yabuno and Israeli bassist Ehud Ettun. The two met in Boston during their studies—Yabuno at Berklee College of Music and Ettun at the New England Conservatory—and quickly discovered their shared musical language despite initial language barriers. Since then, they have been performing across New England and internationally, blending their diverse cultural backgrounds into a unique and creative sound. Their collaboration has produced albums such as *BiPolar*, showcasing their seamless interplay and innovative compositions. They’ve also planned tours taking them to their respective home countries and Europe, with ambitions to explore new directions like working with string quartets and artist residencies for composing.

Ehud Ettun, a well-established Israeli bassist known for his work in jazz and contemporary music, studied under notable musicians in Israel and the US and has performed at prestigious venues like the Blue Note and the Kennedy Center. Haruka Yabuno, classically trained from a very young age, brings an improvisational depth to their partnership. Together, The Yabuno Ettun Project creates a fresh and soulful jazz dialogue that resonates across continents and cultures.
