Ton Scherpenzeel

Ton Scherpenzeel is a Dutch keyboardist, composer, and founding member of the progressive rock band Kayak. Known for his lush arrangements and symphonic style, Scherpenzeel has been a driving force behind Kayak’s sound since the early 1970s, contributing both as a performer and a songwriter. Beyond his work with the band, he’s pursued a range of solo projects showcasing his versatility, from instrumental albums to theatrical compositions.

Over the years, Scherpenzeel has collaborated with several other artists and taken part in projects across genres. He's also contributed to stage productions in the Netherlands and worked as a musical director. His recent releases, including albums like Velvet Armour and The Lion's Dream, reflect his enduring passion for blending classical influences with modern sensibilities.
