Guilt is a post-hardcore band formed in the fall of 1992 by guitarist/vocalist Duncan Barlow and Kyle Noltemeyer, both previously members of the influential Louisville hardcore band Endpoint. The band's lineup was completed by drummer Jon Smith and bassist Ashli State, who later joined Ink & Dagger. Guilt is known for their unique blend of post-hardcore with dark and intense undertones. Their debut album, *Bardstown Ugly Box*, was released in 1995 on Victory Records. The band has recently reissued *Bardstown Ugly Box* with remixed and remastered tracks, along with additional bonus material, via Mind Over Matter Records.
Some of their notable tracks include "Gamma" and "Theta," reflecting their intense and emotive sound. Their music often explores themes of personal struggle and introspection, as seen in the lyrics of "Gamma," which delve into themes of heartbreak and obsession. Guilt's music has been well-received for its raw energy and emotional depth, contributing to the post-hardcore scene of the 1990s.
