Ykee Benda, born Wycliff Tugume, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and producer who burst onto the music scene in 2015. His versatile style blends elements of Afrobeats, pop, dancehall, R&B, and reggae. Ykee gained widespread recognition with hits like "Superman" and a remix of "Farmer" featuring Sheebah Karungi. Despite holding a first-class degree in chemical engineering, he chose to pursue music full-time, founding his own record label called Mpaka Records.
Ykee Benda has collaborated with both African and international artists, including Jason Derulo on the official Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup 2018 anthem. He's received several awards, including Best Newcomer at the 2018 AFRIMMA Awards. His debut album "Kireka Boy" was released in 2017, showcasing his diverse musical talents and solidifying his place as one of Uganda's rising stars.
