Lust For Youth

Lust for Youth is a synth-pop project that originated in Stockholm, Sweden, with its roots tracing back to 2009 when it began as the solo endeavor of Hannes Norrvide. The project is known for its combination of melancholic lyrics, upbeat synth melodies, and a lo-fi, nostalgic aesthetic that nods to the glory days of 80s and early 90s electronic music. Over time, Lust for Youth evolved into a trio with the addition of Loke Rahbek and Malthe Fischer, expanding their sonic depth and refining their sound which led to an intoxicating fusion of darkwave and pop sensibilities.

The band gained international attention with the release of their critically acclaimed album, "International," in 2014, which showcased a more polished and accessible sound that retained the raw emotion of their early work. Not content with resting on their laurels, Lust for Youth continued to push their creative boundaries with subsequent releases such as "Compassion" and their self-titled album, "Lust for Youth." Their music consistently explores themes of love, loss, and desire, often wrapped in pop hooks that make their complex compositions accessible to a wider audience. Despite the maturation in their sound, tracks like "Great Concerns," "By No Means," and "New Balance Point" from more recent works still maintain the band's signature blend of haunting lyricism and danceable rhythms that make them a noteworthy act in the electronic music scene.
