AFI, also known as A Fire Inside, is an American rock band formed in Ukiah, California, in 1991. The ensemble's core lineup consists of lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer and backing vocalist Adam Carson, bassist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist Jade Puget. With a career spanning over three decades, the band has roots deeply planted in the hardcore punk scene of the early 1990s. However, as their sound evolved, they adeptly merged elements of horror punk, gothic rock, and alternative rock, bringing them mainstream success in the early 2000s.
