El Bosso & Die Ping Pongs

El Bosso & Die Ping Pongs are a pioneering German ska band, formed in Münster in 1985. They are notable for being the first German-language ska band, contributing significantly to the development of the German ska scene in the early 1990s alongside bands like Skaos, No Sports, The Braces, The Busters, and Blechreiz. The band released their debut album in 1990 and followed it with *Ich bin Touri* in 1991. After disbanding in 1992, they reunited in 2003 and have since continued to perform and release new music, including albums like *Tag vor dem Abend* in 2012 and *Hier und jetzt oder nie* in 2014.

The band's music often features lively ska rhythms and catchy melodies, with songs like "Immer nur Ska" becoming iconic in the genre. Their legacy extends beyond their music, as members like Richard "Prof. Richie sen." went on to form other influential bands, such as Dr. Ring-Ding & The Senior Allstars. Despite their hiatus, El Bosso & Die Ping Pongs have maintained a loyal fan base and continue to be celebrated for their contributions to the ska genre.
