Volker Hartung is a German conductor who has led orchestras around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He is known for his interpretations of the works of Richard Wagner, and has recorded several albums of Wagner's music. Hartung is also a passionate advocate for new music, and has premiered works by many contemporary composers.
