Set the Sun is an American post-hardcore and metalcore band formed in 2009 in Dallas, Texas, by David Southern when he was just 17. The band quickly expanded to include members Nate Anderson (unclean vocals), Arturo Pina (lead guitar), Dakota Price (bass), Brandon Daniels (keyboards), and Alex Summers (drums). Known for their aggressive, energetic sound, Set the Sun combines elements of metalcore, electronicore, and progressive metalcore, drawing influences from bands like Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, and Asking Alexandria. They released their debut EP, *Set The Sun*, in 2011, which showcased their powerful vocals, keyboards, and drums, despite some criticism of their guitar work.
Set the Sun has built a strong following with their dynamic music and engaging shows, and they have continued to release music with recent tracks like "Falling Apart," "At War," and "The Impossible." Their style is characterized by heavy riffs, electronic elements, and a mix of clean and unclean vocals, making them a recognized name in the modern metalcore scene. The band’s rise from high school beginnings to a notable presence in the genre reflects their dedication and passion for creating energetic and emotive music.
