Nocturnal Sunshine is the bass-driven, darker alter ego of acclaimed UK producer and DJ Maya Jane Coles. Under this alias, Coles explores a grittier, more experimental side of her sound, blending elements of dubstep, garage, hip-hop, and electronica. While she's well-known for her deep house productions under her own name, Nocturnal Sunshine allows her to dive deep into the underground with moody textures and rugged beats.
The project debuted with a self-titled album in 2015, garnering praise for its genre-defying style and immersive atmosphere. In 2019, she returned with her second Nocturnal Sunshine album, Full Circle, which featured collaborations with artists like Peaches, Young M.A, and Gangsta Boo, further pushing the boundaries of electronic music. With its raw energy and distinctive aesthetic, Nocturnal Sunshine continues to showcase Maya Jane Coles' versatility and innovation as a producer.
