Hans-Joachim Rotzsch is a German conductor and organist who has served as the Thomaskantor (music director) of the Thomanerchor Leipzig since 1991. Born in 1953, Rotzsch studied organ and conducting at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" Dresden and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig. He has conducted numerous renowned orchestras, including the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. Rotzsch is known for his interpretations of Baroque and Romantic music, particularly the works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
