Sunken Seas

Sunken Seas is a shoegaze and post-rock band from Wellington, New Zealand, formed in late 2011. They have been associated with labels Muzai Records and Tenzenmen, and their music career includes notable releases such as their debut album "Null Hour" in 2012, the EP "Cataclysm" in 2013, and their second album "Glass" in 2015. "Null Hour" was well-received and even nominated for the 2013 Taite Music Prize, while "Glass" also garnered favorable reviews and charted in the New Zealand Top 20. The band has toured internationally and shared stages with prominent acts like The Black Angels and Bailterspace.

Sunken Seas' style often blends elements of shoegaze with darker, atmospheric tones, though they have described their music as "space rock." The band has contributed to both the Australian and New Zealand music scenes through their tours and festival appearances, including Camp A Low Hum. Over the years, the band has undergone changes in membership, featuring Ryan Harte, Luke Kavanagh, David Provan, and Jordan Puryer as current members.
