Superfunk is a French electronic dance music group founded in 1998 in Marseille. The group originally consisted of Fabrice Texier (also known as Fafa Monteco), Hamdi Hassen (Mike 303), and Stéphane Bonan (Stéphane B). They gained recognition for their club tracks and released the album "Hold Up" in 2000, featuring popular singles like "Last Dance," "Lucky Star," and "The Young MC." After Fafa Monteco left to pursue a solo career, Bonan and Hassen continued as Superfunk Inc., collaborating with Le Sascha. Superfunk is known for their vibrant contributions to the French house music scene.
Stéphane Bonan, a key member of the group, passed away on August 12, 2020. Despite this, Superfunk's legacy continues to influence electronic dance music. Their recent releases include remixes and reworks of their classic tracks, showcasing their enduring impact on the genre.
