Ada Oda is a musical project that emerged from the Brussels scene, initiated by César Laloux in 2020. The project gained momentum when Laloux met Victoria Barracato on Tinder, and he suggested she sing his songs in Italian, given the Italian nature of her name. This collaboration led to the formation of Ada Oda, which is known for blending the boldness of 1980s post-punk with the melodic charm of Italian pop. Their music often explores themes of love and relationships, as seen in their debut album "Un Amore Debole," released in November 2022. The album includes popular tracks like "Un Amore Debole" and "Niente Da Offrire," which have resonated with audiences across Europe, particularly in Italy.
On stage, Ada Oda expands to a quintet, featuring Clément Marion on bass, Alex De Bueger and Aurélien Gainetdinoff on guitar. The band has performed at numerous festivals, including Rock en Seine, Best Kept Secret, and SXSW in 2024, marking their first performance outside Europe. Their live shows are highly regarded for their energy and emotional depth. With a second album set for release in February 2025, Ada Oda continues to captivate audiences with their unique sound and dynamic performances.
