ONO

**ONO** is a groundbreaking experimental collective rooted in Chicago's avant-garde scene since 1980. Blending industrial noise, gospel fervor, and confrontational performance art, their work confronts themes of race, queerness, and systemic oppression with unflinching intensity. Led by co-founder Travis (a.k.a. travis) alongside a rotating cast of collaborators, ONO’s chaotic live shows merge ritualistic theatrics, distorted vocals, and politically charged spoken word into a uniquely unsettling experience.

After a long hiatus, they resurged in the 2010s with releases like *Red Summer* (2020), which reckons with America’s history of racial violence, and *Kate Cincinnati* (2022), a haunting collage of noise and gospel defiance. Their music—raw, confrontational, and deeply spiritual—has cemented them as cult icons of the underground, championing outsider art while challenging listeners to confront uncomfortable truths.
