Hrvatski Tamburaški Orkestar

**Hrvatski Tamburaški Orkestar**, also known as the Orkestar 100 tamburaša, kicked off in 2006 to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Šokadija Zagreb association, gathering tambura players from all over Croatia. Right from the start, they made history by setting a Guinness World Record as the world's largest tambura orchestra with 164 musicians in their debut performance.

They're famous for their epic **Šokačka rapsodija** concerts at Zagreb's Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, packing the stage with 100 tamburaši and delivering high-energy live shows full of traditional Croatian tunes, medleys, and even covers like Thunderstruck. Founded by folks like Martin Vuković, Jadran Antolović, Božo Potočnik, Josip Ivanković (who dreamed up the 100-player idea), Jerry Grcevich, and conductor Mihael Ferić, they've kept the tambura tradition alive with innovative touches like section leaders introduced in 2011. Recent live albums from 2024 and 2025 capture that infectious vibe.
